Most teams start with sponsorship
This one starts with coaching
Saddle Up! is a coaching-led race and event collective, soft launching in 2025. It’s for riders who train with intent, race with purpose, and want to share that journey with others.
The team is built around coached athletes but also includes those who align with its values, regardless of coaching status.
This is not about kit deals or reach. It’s about consistent work, shared intent, and mutual support.
Riders span senior and junior categories, with goals ranging from road races and crits to time trials, sportives, and selected international events. Frequency Cycleworks supports the team as a technical partner.
Some race to win. Others to improve or test themselves. What connects them is commitment.
Read below to see how it works.
Where You Might Fit
The team is built around coached riders. Most senior riders work with Saddle Up Coaching. That remains the foundation. But it is not the only route in. Riders who train seriously and align with the team’s standards are welcome.
Youth and junior riders are coached for free. Support includes training guidance, event-day help, and advice where needed. The aim is to give young riders the structure and habits to grow well in the sport.
Whether you’re returning to racing, just getting started, or supporting a younger rider, the starting point is the same. Train with intent, contribute where you can, and be part of something that values effort.
Winning comes in many ways. Here, it starts with how you show up.
What It Means to Be Part of the Team
Team identity
Custom kit is available to all team riders. This may be a jersey, or a full aero race suit. Supplied directly by NoPinz, there are no minimum quantities and items can be ordered at any time.
Race day support
Support is provided where possible by Frequency. Riders also benefit from shared planning, informal guidance, and a sense of presence alongside others who take racing seriously.
A coaching-led environment
The team is rooted in coached riders. That is the starting point. Others who share the same values and training approach are welcome. The coaching comes first. The team is the result.
Connection
Training with intent. Racing with purpose. Backing each other up. Showing up and being part of something on race day.
Affiliated racing
The team is affiliated with British Cycling and Cycling Time Trials.
What We Expect from Each Other
Commitment
Progress comes from consistency. Riders are encouraged to train with intent, invest in their development, and take pride in how they prepare.
Conduct
Cycling is a shared space. The way we ride, communicate, and support others shapes the team environment. Being respectful and dependable matters.
Representation
Wearing the kit reflects more than appearance. It represents the values of Saddle Up and Frequency, both in competition and in the wider cycling community.
Standards
Improvement takes time and attention. Riders are supported to do the basics well, stay open to learning, and approach challenges with purpose.
Shared purpose
This is not about status or outcomes alone. It is for those who want to improve, contribute, and be part of something meaningful. Winning comes in many ways. For this team, it starts with how you show up.
